* The three-year degree ensures a command of methods, general contents and specific knowledge which may be put to use in working practice.

  This undergraduate course in Education for Organisations proposes to develop in a cohesive fashion basic knowledge and competencies in psychology and pedagogy for a diversity of disciplinary fields, in order to build the essential foundations for various forms of professional development aimed at a wide range of applications concerned with learning and the education of adults. The course aims to develop the capacity to ready and analyse learning needs and to supply resources for the management of suitable designed for the individual, group, or organisations (in an institutional, local or community context, public and private organisations, profit and non-profit organisations, services). The development of knowledge and competencies can be drawn from two areas:
- competencies concerning educational planning and thus the analyses of demand as well as of needs, the development of appropriate educational programmes relevant to the objectives, content and setting, methods, materials, roles, while building systems of evaluation in order to assess the achievement of objectives concerning individual development and organisational change as proposed by the training program;
- competencies concerning education in the classroom as well as outside the classroom, in a group as well as individually; taking on the role of teacher and managing educational relationships; taking on the role of guide and controlling the processes of change; using the opportunities offered by the technology of distance education such as web-training.
The professional opportunities are characterized by competencies relevant to a number of professional contexts:
a) public and private institutions in the services field; b) educational institutions and agencies, recognized institutions and cooperatives involved in production as well as services in the fields of social work and education; c) non-profit organisations and establishments.

  The course is aimed at the preparation of qualified social workers with the following competencies, knowledge and abilities: a) a suitable knowledge of the foundations of social work; b) mastery of the methods and techniques relevant to social services; c) practical and operative competencies related to surveying and dealing with social malaise that concerns individuals, groups and communities; d) good team work abilities; e) a good ability to relate the performance of a specific service to a more general cultural, economic, and social context within the community; f) the capacity to effectively utilize, in both a written and oral form, at least one European Union language other than Italian within the specific professional context of exchanging general information; g) a suitable competence and the use of appropriate means for the communication and management of information in general as well as regarding civil rights issues; h) the ability to contextualize within a political and social framework the means of social intervention. In order to guarantee the achievement of these objectives the University of Verona has chosen to continue in the path taken in the 1950s by favouring subjects about social service in relation to other Italian issues, and by making certain that these courses will be taught by social workers with a high level of experience and competence. The same attention has been given to the teaching of law as regards the foundations of social services.

  The undergraduate course in the Science of Education aims to offer an articulated framework of knowledge and competencies approached from a number of angles (personal, cultural, social and the like), relevant to professions within the field of education. With this objective in mind the course will make reference to those disciplines considered essential to the development of professionals with a solid foundation, which includes theoretical, epistemological, and methodological principals as well as an operative orientation relevant to issues in education. The course proposes to encourage the acquisition of what is necessary to favour the processes of the development of the person in various social and cultural contexts by means of the elaboration, realisation and assessment of coherent and compatible educational projects, characterized by intentionality and continuity. The role that the undergraduate course aims at is one of a professional operating with people of various ages, by way of creating and completing educational projects that favour processes leading to personal integration and fulfilment as well as facilitating full participation in society. From this perspective the educator needs to operate with reference to interpersonal relations, group dynamics and family dynamics, cultural and social settings, as well as the organisation of services in the field of education.
More specifically, the educator:
- plans and implements interventions in educational settings as well as accompanies the life long process of learning and cultural integration;
- takes initiatives while recognizing and enhancing the value of human and cultural resources present in the various contexts in favour of individuals in a multitude of life situations and conditions;
- operates in problematic situations of unease, marginalisation and deviance such as those regarding the disabled, immigrants, senior citizens while knowing to recognize in each individual the resources that can be tapped;
- carries out tasks of accompanying, orienting and supporting the education of minors within scholastic settings;
- operates in nursery schools and in kindergartens;
- works as an expert concerning issues regarding young children and preadolescents by training and giving support to parents.

Il Corso di Laurea in Scienze della Formazione Primaria, unico per tutto il Veneto, ha la durata di quattro anni. Si articola in un biennio propedeutico comune e in due indirizzi, rispettivamente per la formazione degli insegnanti della scuola dell’infanzia e della scuola primaria. La formazione avviene tramite insegnamenti dell’area pedagogica, metodologico-didattica, psicologica, igienico-medica, giuridica, socio-antropologica, linguistico-letteraria, matematico-informatica, delle scienze naturali, fisiche ed ambientali, della musica e della comunicazione sonora, delle scienze motorie, della didattica delle lingue moderne, dell’area storico-sociale, del disegno e delle arti visive, dell’integrazione scolastica per allievi disabili e dell’area filosofica.

Il primo anno è dedicato alla cultura di base nelle scienze dell’educazione. Il secondo anno è destinato ad un primo approccio alla professione insegnante (saperi trasversali, metodi-tecniche di lavoro e di ricerca). Il secondo biennio, distinto nei due indirizzi di scuola dell’infanzia e scuola primaria, è fondamentalmente dedicato a costruire competenze nei vari ambiti disciplinari, con tre opzioni d'approfondimento nell’area delle lingue moderne, delle scienze, delle arti visive e della musica.

La laurea costituisce titolo abilitante per l’insegnamento nella scuola dell’infanzia o primaria, secondo l’indirizzo scelto. Dopo aver conseguito il diploma di laurea relativo ad un indirizzo, frequentando una nuova annualità, si può conseguire anche il diploma di laurea relativo all’altro indirizzo (vedi indicazioni più dettagliate nelle pagine seguenti). Frequentando corsi aggiuntivi di durata semestrale si potrà, inoltre, svolgere l’attività d’insegnante di sostegno agli alunni in situazione di handicap.

Per accedere al corso di laurea è richiesto il diploma di scuola media superiore di cinque anni o il diploma magistrale di quattro anni per gli insegnanti di scuola primaria in servizio da almeno 10 anni.

Il numero di posti fissati per l’Ateneo di Verona, in accordo con i ministeri competenti e il coordinamento universitario regionale, è indicato ogni anno nel bando di ammissione.

Per l’ammissione al corso di laurea è necessario superare la relativa prova di ammissione.

Note aggiuntive:

1. Gli insegnamenti del 3° anno sono comuni ai due indirizzi (scuola dell’infanzia e scuola primaria). Verranno date indicazioni bibliografiche differenti e verranno distinte le attività di laboratorio per i due indirizzi.

2. Gli insegnamenti e i laboratori del 4° anno sono distinti per i due indirizzi.

3. Nel 4° anno gli studenti dell’indirizzo di scuola primaria dovranno scegliere un ambito disciplinare di approfondimento (linguistico, scientifico, artistico).

4. Le attività di laboratorio e di tirocinio richiedono la frequenza obbligatoria.

  The degree course for experts in training processes aims at supplying theoretical-methodological knowledge and operational skills in the training sector. These are to be integrated with knowledge and skills in the natural and humanistic sciences. To this end the course also aims to develop the skill of efficiently using, both in written and oral, at least one European Union language, besides Italian, as well as to give adequate acquisition of skills and tools for communication and information management.

  This degree course will not be run in the academic year 2004-2005, but a Degree Course in Education Science will take its place. Only the 2nd and the 3rd years will be run.


The degree course for professional educators aims at supplying theoretical-methodological knowledge and operational skills in the education sector, integrated with knowledge and skills in natural and human sciences. To this end the course also intends to offer the capacity to efficintly use, both in written and oral, at least one European Union language, besides Italain, as well as to give adequate acquisition of skills and tools for communication and information management.

  The degree course in Education Sciences provides a theoretical and methodological background as well as providing students with operative skills in the education sector. These are integrated in various ways with studies of the natural and human sciences. To this end, the course is also designed to develop students' ability when writing and speaking, at least one European language other than Italian, as well as developing their skills with Information technology for communicating and organizing information.

We wish to inform you that the course title has changed from "Degree course for Professional Educators" to "Degree in Education Sciences" only as far as matriculation is concerned from the academic year 2004-2005. This means that those students who enrolled in years previous to this date will keep the previous title in their study record books and in the study curriculum. We also with to inform you that the change of title has no effect on the training which is being offered nor on the course programmes, which will stay the same for " Professional Educators" as it is for the new students who have matriculated as " Degree course in Education Sciences".

  The degree course in social services aims at offering a fitting knowledge of the basic disciplines related to the area of what is known under the umbrella term of Social Services, as well as the work methods and techniques of the sector. It also aims to supply practical and operational skills which are related to the discovery and treatment of situations of social hardship for both individual persons and groups and communities and to favour the development of the student's capacity to interact with the different cultures within them in an intercultural and multiethnic context. To this end the course also aims at offering the ability to use, within this specific area, at least one European Union language efficiently , apart from Italian, as well as acquiring adequate skills and tools for communication and information management.
